Entrance Requirements
For MPhil and PhD research, University regulations require the possession of a first or upper second class degree in Electronic Engineering, Computing, Physics, or Maths. We also accept lower second class degrees plus a good masters degree, or equivalent oversees qualifications.
For other qualifications, please enquire.
The University recommends the following as a suitable minimum level of competence in English:
- Cambridge Proficiency Examination (Grade C)
- GCSE/GCE Ordinary level in English (Grade C)
- International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS) (Band 6)
- NEAB Test in English
- Test in English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (score of 550 on the paper-based test, or 213 on the computer based test)
- AEB Test in English for Educational Purposes (Grade III)
The Language Centre offers a range of Pre-Sessional English Language Courses, which can be taken during the summer prior to starting the programme, and offers IELTS testing. Further details of this years courses can be obtained from the Language Centre Institute by contacting:
