Astrodynamics Group

The Surrey SNAP satelliteThe Astrodynamics Group researches into the dynamics and control of spacecraft. The group look at orbital motion of spacecraft and developing different models for this motion, and from these design controllers to manoeuvre satellites into correct orbits. The group also looks at spacecraft attitude and using developments in non-linear dynamical theory for the description of attitude. We have active interest in estimation of attitude as well as control.

The group contains expertise in dynamical theory, estimation, hardware system design and controller design. These different strands are brought together in the development of new innovative spacecraft AODCS systems, and tested on existing satellites in orbit.
