Answers To Logic Gates Using Inverters

AND: With an AND gate, you can make a NAND, OR and NOR gate.

OR: With an OR gate, you can make a NOR, NAND and AND gate.

NAND: With a NAND gate, you can make an AND, OR and NOR gate.

NOR: With a NOR gate, you can make an OR, AND and NAND gate.

EXOR: With an EXOR gate, you can only make a EXNOR gate.

EXNOR: With an EXNOR gate, you can only make a EXOR gate.

With a combination of either AND or OR gates, you can make any of these four gates AND, OR, NAND or NOR. But with a combination of either NAND or NOR gates, you can make any of these four gates AND, OR, NAND, NOR and you can also make NOT gates. With those five gates you can make EXOR and EXNOR gates.

So with just a combination of either NAND or NOR gates you can have any type of gate. As these gates are so useful, micro chips with all NAND or NOR gates are very commonly produced and used.
