Opportunities for Collaboration

CCSR sees as part of its mission to enhance the partnership and collabaration with both industry and other research establishments. With other research establishments, we already partner in European networks of excellence and EU projects. Further afield we have strategic relationships with Universities in China, Tsinghau, BUPT, NUPT and South Eastern and in Korea; Korea University and ETRI. In Japan we have had a long standing collaboration with NICT. We partner with industry on a varied and wide front. In Europe we have been central players in WWRF and ASMS-TF groups and have been closely allied with the big 5 mobile companies in WWI. On the satellite front we have strong collaborations with Alcatel-Alenia Space. The mobile VCE brings collaborations with over twenty companies via this engine of long term research in mobile communications. Historically we have had links with Major company World University Partnerships; Ericsson, Nokia and Vodafone. More recently we have opened the first embedded industrial laboratory within our I-Lab sponsored by Thales. This venture brings industrial engineers into the University to work alongside academics in this centre on new services and applications. CCSR is keen to establish strong and lasting relationships with industry and research groups. We would particularly like to see additions to our strategic industrial relationships and more companies involved in the embedded laboratories.
