CCSR - Facilities - Antennas & Propagation
The Antennas & Propagation Labs within the Centre for Communication Systems Research comprises an anechoic chamber, an RF lab and a team of some 10 researchers.
The Antennas & Propagation Labs are well equipped with the latest spectrum and vector network analysers (including portable spectrum analysers),
narrowband and wideband channel sounders, a satellite emulator, multiple signal sources and several antennas up to 60GHz. The anechoic chamber contains fully
automated antenna measurement software controlling a vector network analyser and turntable. We have a large selection of linear and circular polarized reference
antennas over a wide frequency range. The Centre also operates its own 802.11a,b,g networks.
Our latest addition is the Elektrobit wideband MIMO channel sounder (PropSound) including several antenna arrays, which was purchased through a successful SRIF bid
led by Dr. Stavrou.
Our anechoic chamber enables us to characterize the antennas used in our measurement campaigns as well as for our antenna research. We also allow rental
of our anechoic chamber facilities, along with the help of our research experts if required.
If you are interested in collaborating with us, perhaps in measurement campaigns, propagation modelling/analysis, or antenna research, or if you wish to know more about
our capabilities and propagation/antenna research interests, in the first instance please contact Dr. Tim Brown.
The anehcoic chamber in CCSR is available to be rented on occasions for usually less than 3 days and at competitive prices when it is not in use for research and teaching purposes. Staff are also available to undertake measurements of antenna patterns using in house equipment should it be required. To make enquiries and discuss your needs, please contact Dr. Tim Brown in the first instance.
